Tanque Verde High School prepares students to be competitive and successful in a changing world, providing superior resources and instruction to maximize academic achievement. Devoted, highly-qualified teachers prepare students with personalized learning, Advanced Placement (AP) and dual enrollment courses, and the integration of school-to-work and career opportunities.
Tanque Verde High School operates a modified block schedule with students attending all classes on Monday, Thursday and Friday; Tuesday and Wednesday classes are extended to 90 minutes each. The extended 90-minute period allows in-depth learning and lab experiences for all courses.
Tanque Verde High School offers a wide variety of education opportunities. In partnership with the College Board, our school offers Advanced Placement (AP) and Pre-AP courses in English, social studies, science, and foreign language in grades 9-12. AP courses and instruction follow the College Board initiatives and prepare students for AP testing in May of each year.
In cooperation with Pima Community College, we offer dual enrollment classes on our campus. Upon successful completion of these classes, students receive both high school and college credit for the course.
Our A-rated school offers career and college preparation pathways by also offering Career and Technology Education (CTE) courses in Agricultural Sciences, Computer Science, Film & TV, Technical Theater, and Precision Manufacturing.
