The Hawks put on a show to remember at the Arena High School Classic, a huge swim meet held at the University of Arizona Aquatics Center. Family and fans filled the stands to cheer them on, and the team delivered with a weekend full of personal records, time drops, and outstanding performances that highlighted their hard work and determination.
The Hawks came away as the top Division 3 team at the meet, with the Boys finishing in 4th place overall and the Girls securing 6th place.
One of the standout moments came in the Boys 200 IM, where the Hawks dominated the podium. Wade Ollson took the top spot with a blazing time of 2:00.20, while teammate Zach Duerkop wasn’t far behind, finishing 2nd at 2:01.13.
The excitement continued in the relays as the Boys 200 Free Relay made history, breaking the school record with a time of 1:31.81 to capture 3rd place.
The team’s success at the Classic reflects not just the strength of its top performers but the depth of talent across the roster. With momentum on their side and the support of an energized community, the Hawks are looking ahead to even greater accomplishments this season.
