Signing Day

Tucson, AZ — April 29 — Tanque Verde High School proudly recognized a group of standout student-athletes during its annual Athletic Signing Day ceremony, held Wednesday afternoon in the school commons. The event celebrated the hard work, dedication, and achievements of seniors who have committed to continuing their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level.

Family members, coaches, teammates, and faculty gathered at 3:00 p.m. to honor the Hawks’ athletes as they officially announced their college destinations. The ceremony highlighted participants from a variety of sports, reflecting the school’s strong and diverse athletic program.

Among those recognized was beach volleyball player Cayla Vimmerstedt, who will continue her career at Nicholls State University. The baseball program celebrated Landon Walker, headed to Pima Community College, and Santino Celani, who will attend Coe College.

The football team had a particularly strong showing, with four players signing to continue at the next level: AJ Cooper (Cornell College), Anthony Torgeson (Reedley Junior College), Cooper Payne (Fort Lewis College), and Sebastian Blakeman (Beloit College).

In soccer, Bella Gooch committed to Eastern Arizona University, while softball standout Sara Hoagland signed with Central Arizona College.

Signing Day marked the culmination of years of dedication to their sport, as well as the beginning of an exciting new chapter. The celebration served as both recognition of their achievements and a send-off as they prepare to compete at the collegiate level.

Tanque Verde High School continues to take pride in its athletic programs and the opportunities they create for students, both in competition and in life beyond high school.
