As we prepare for the start of another great school year, we'd like to share a few important parking updates and reminders to help keep everyone safe and avoid unnecessary parking citations. Please visit our transportation page for more information about pickup/dropoff, parking, as well as TVUSD school bus routes
More Student Parking is Available!
We currently have more than 60 student parking permits still available for purchase on campus. If your student would like to park on campus, please follow the directions to apply for a parking permit here: Get a Parking Permit HERE!
Even better, 50 additional parking spaces will be added in July in the area where the former tennis courts were located, providing more on-campus parking for our students.
Please Follow All Traffic Signs
Students and families must obey all posted traffic signs around campus.
Please note that the dirt easement between the baseball/softball fields and Melpomene is owned by Pima County—not Tanque Verde Unified School District. Likewise, the "No Parking" signs in that area were installed by Pima County, not TVUSD.
Pima County has informed us that they plan to resume issuing parking citations to vehicles parked in posted no-parking zones. This includes parents who stop or park in these areas during afternoon pickup. Please avoid these areas to help keep traffic moving safely and to avoid receiving a ticket.
A Few Suggestions to Make Dismissal Easier
We recognize that our parking lot is smaller than we'd like. One of the easiest ways to reduce congestion is to consider picking your student up 15–20 minutes after dismissal.
Many students use this extra time to:
Meet with teachers for extra help
Finish homework
Receive tutoring
Visit with friends before heading home
Our Commons building remains open until 4:00 p.m. each school day for students who need a safe place to study, wait for a ride, access school resources, or receive academic support.
Off-Campus Parking
Students who choose not to purchase a parking permit may park on nearby public streets where parking is legally permitted. Students and Families MUST:
Follow all posted traffic signs
Park legally
Do not block driveways, sidewalks, fire hydrants, or intersections
Please remember that Windridge is a private street, and public parking is not permitted within that subdivision.
Looking Ahead
We know parking has been a challenge, and we appreciate everyone's patience. We have exciting long-term plans to expand our campus footprint, improve student facilities, and create more efficient parking opportunities for students, staff, and visitors.
In the meantime, our goal is simple: keep everyone safe, be respectful of our neighbors, and help families avoid unnecessary parking tickets.
Thank you for partnering with us to make the start of the school year a safe and successful one. We look forward to welcoming our Hawks back to campus!
