Tanque Verde High School is proud to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of three Hawks who have spent their summer rehearsing, performing, and competing with The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps of Tempe, Arizona.
Current students Beckett Jensen '27 and Safi Younis '28, along with recent graduate Ethan Stein '26, earned coveted spots in The Academy's World Class corps, an achievement that reflects extraordinary talent, dedication, and musicianship.
Drum Corps International (DCI) represents the highest level of the marching arts in the world. Membership in a World Class corps is highly competitive, with performers auditioning from across the country for a limited number of positions. Having three Hawks performing at this level is a remarkable accomplishment for the TVHS band program.
This weekend, Beckett, Safi, and Ethan will travel to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis to compete in the DCI World Championships, where the nation's top drum and bugle corps will conclude their season in one of the most prestigious events in marching arts.
In addition to qualifying for the World Championships, two of our Hawks have received special recognition from The Academy for their outstanding growth and leadership this season. Safi Younis was honored as Most Improved Brass Member, while Ethan Stein received the distinction of Most Outstanding Brass Member.
Congratulations to Beckett, Safi, and Ethan on representing Tanque Verde High School with excellence on the national stage. We are incredibly proud of your hard work, commitment, and the way you continue to showcase the talent and spirit of Hawk Nation. We wish you the very best as you compete this weekend!
