The Pride of Tanque Verde continued its strong competitive season this weekend, earning first place at the Flowing Wells Show of Shows while competing against an expanded field of programs in its division.

The Pride earned a score of 66.612, representing a six-point increase from the previous week. The ensemble also received top honors for Visual Performance and Color Guard, while finishing narrowly behind the leaders in the General Effect and Music captions.

The significant week-to-week improvement reflects the continued work of TVHS students and staff as they refine the production throughout the competitive season.

Community members will have an opportunity to see the Pride of Tanque Verde perform at the Hawks’ final regular-season home football game on October 16. The band will then compete at the Southern Arizona Regional Championships on October 24 at Ironwood Ridge High School, with its performance scheduled for 3:39 p.m.
