Homecoming is coming up! We put together a quick Homecoming 101 Parent Guide with everything you may want to know before your student attends their first high school dance.
The guide includes information about tickets and guests, what students typically wear, dinner and flowers, going with a date or friends, a few helpful etiquette conversations to have at home, and the safety procedures we use during the dance.
Our Arabian Nights Homecoming Dance is Saturday, September 26 from 7:00-10:00 PM in the TVHS MPR (Winter Formal and Prom are off site at event centers). Students must bring their student ID for entry. Non-TVHS student guest passes are at the front desk in the office.

🇺🇸 Bringing American History to Life at TVHS! 🇺🇸
On September 1 from 3:30-4:30pm, Tanque Verde High School is proud to welcome the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolutionfor our annual presentation on the American Revolution!
Students and guests will get an engaging, hands-on look at the people who helped shape our nation—from the young Americans who fought in the Revolution to the important roles played by women, militias, and everyday citizens. The presentation will also explore uniforms, equipment, personal stories, and the incredible challenges faced by those who fought for independence.
We are excited to give our Hawks an opportunity to experience history beyond the textbook and build a deeper appreciation for our shared American heritage. 🇺🇸

🎉 Four-day weekend! No school Friday, September 4, or Monday, September 7.
👨👩👧👦 Family Information Nights: 9th & 10th grade families on September 8 and 11th grade families on September 9 — both virtual!
✏️ PSAT is October 29! It is FREE for juniors and $20 for freshmen and sophomores.
🎯 PSAT/SAT Prep Seminar is September 16 & 17 for students who want some extra preparation.

The Hawk’s Nest is officially open for business! Our first home volleyball and football games begin TODAY, and we don’t want our families to miss out on one of the best values of the school year.
TVHS 2026–2027 Athletic Season Passes provide admission to all regular-season home athletic events throughout the entire school year:
$40 for current TVHS students
$75 for parents, family members, and other non-TVHS students
Here’s why the pass is such a great deal: individual admission is $5 per game. If you attended all of our regular-season home athletic events and paid at the gate each time, you would spend more than $185 per person over the course of the year.
With a season pass, you can come cheer on football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, wrestling, and all of our other ticketed home events without paying admission each time.

Grab an extra box of granola bars, oatmeal cups, ramen, mac & cheese, fruit cups, snacks, or another item from the list when you're shopping and send it our way!
